Jour 73 - Touchdown Firenze!

November 1st, Tuesday

Today we were scheduled to go to Italy! :) Florence for 6 days, then Milan for 3 days! My dad invited Kwi to come with us in our Italian Eurotrip. Kwi followed a few days later than us.

We had to take the plane via Easyjet - land in Milan, take the bus that will lead us to Milano Centrale train station then take the train to go to Florence. I thought we weren't going to make it to our train because of the time. Apparently, my dad told me that the bus we took hasn't fixed the time. Today, everywhere in Europe had to adjust their clock an hour later (I guess this is because the days are shorter and the nights are longer - winter is coming!!!! :|).

We got to Florence around 14:00, and it was such an ease to look for our hotel. It was just literally 5 minutes away from the Firenze SMN train station.

We a clean clean hotel :) We found out through our receptionist, Max, that Camerie was just renovated 6 months ago. We were very fortunate to have stayed here because a lot of the hotels in Florence are old. My dad, the genius, really did a good job in looking for a good accommodation :)

After settling in, we walked around the area. We went inside the mall of the train station and I found this! Cute right? :) It was so cheap because this edition is old but who cares? I am now motivated to learn Italian :)

For dinner, we ate in Rossopomodoro - it was one of the restaurants recommended by Max.

The thing about Italians, they ABSOLUTELY LOVE to eat!! Oh and they eat so heavy! I think if I'm not mistaken they have 5 courses in one meal! They eat light during the day but at night, it's as if there's no tomorrow! Haha.

For our antipasti (appetizer), we got the 'A Partenopea (Bruschetta bread, tomatoes, EVOO, garlic, oregano and basil). Very good choice! The looks hard but once you bite into it, it's soft and garlic-y!

We got the Fiaschetto pizza - tomato sauce, mozzarella, champignon mushrooms, ham, artichokes, and black olives.

Our I Primi, we got 'O Scialatiello - it's homemade Napolitan pasta pasta with fresh cherry tomatoes and basil sauce, aubergines, courgettes, caciocavallo cheese flakes.

The dinner was superb but the thing is, we were just two! We were too full from everything we ordered. My dad doesn't have the same appetite he had before so he claims to just be able to eat as much as I can only :| By the end of the night, we felt sick from eating too much good food! Haha good thing Florence is such a small city that you can walk from end to end. We walked from the restaurant back to the hotel - at least we were able to let some food down :))
