I'm So Creative

The magic of paint and skype = multiple Ellies :))

Kaibigan na Pranses!

I had a birthday skype date with Ellie Bellie! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BFF! I miss her so much!!!! :(( First birthday that I'm away from her :(

Check out what we were doing! Haha. I thought Ellie how to use the "share your screen" function in Skype and she got so aliw that she saw a lot of pictures of her :)) She even placed a picture of us <3 hihi

Hahaha very good!

Jour 67 - The Great Escape

Jour 66 - Ryan Salon

October 25th, Tuesday

I've been packing and researching for my Italy trip with my dad. Busy busy day but I can't complain because I'm really really excited to see my dad on Thursday!!! :)

Jia, Cam and Tere came over. Cam, Tere and Kwi are going to Greece over the fall break so they've been fixing their itineraries.

Ryan also came over because he needed a haircut. He wanted to have Cam, who has no experience at all, to cut his hair. Cam checked out lots of youtube tutorials for it. We were all telling Ryan that he shouldn't do it but he was so persistent to have his hair short before seeing his mom :))

I wasn't able to take a picture of the before and after Ryan hair but kudos to Cam, Jia and Tere! They did a pretty good job! :)

Jour 65 - They (THE KOOKS) Gave Me An Eskimo Kiss!

October 24th, Monday

Aira left yesterday :( Kwi and I had an extra day because we actually went to Lyon because we were there for the Kooks concert :)

For brunch, we went to nearby kebab place.

We wanted a really nice spot so we headed straight to the concert grounds 7 hours before. Yes, you saw my text right. We were there at around 13:00 and the concert was gonna start at 20:00.

We waited outside this area, beside the street.

At first, we were just a few...

Waiting and waiting..

We were standing then we decided to see our city map as a mat.

At around 16:00, Kwi suddenly realized that we were gonna get so hungry at the end of the night. She volunteered to go to the nearest supermarket and get food for us. When we got back, the girls beside us were all staring. They quickly followed our trick.

The wait was incredibly long - the wind was cold and the stupid French yuppies were going in front of us!

BUTTTT, the wait was well worth it! We got a spot in front of the most pit! <3 :3

We met two nice French girls who came all the way from Bordeaux to watch the Kooks. They're such avid fans that they actually watched the Kooks in Bordeaux, and now they're part of the guest list to watch them again!!

There were bands that opened for the Kooks - Fin and the Morning Parade, both equally good! :)

The concert was an experience I will never forget - the Kooks played around 20 songs (if my memory serves me right). Things that happened during the concert:
(x) extreme pushing and shoving me away from my awesome spot
(x) extreme cursing - I almost picked on a fight with one French girl who was so inconsiderate by putting her hand in front of my face
(x) extreme sweating - we were like sardines in the mosh pit that one girl even fainted! It was that hot
(x) extreme happiness! I was right in front so I just jumped the railing, I would have touched the band members!

Here are some of the videos I took during the concert <3

These pictures and videos can't really depict what I saw and experienced but it was indeed good that I documented everything. My camera literally died taking lots of pictures and videos.

Kwi and I bought shirts each - F**K THE WORLD OFF :) First ever purchase from a concert!
Oh and another good part of my experience - I got one of the guitar picks when they were throwing it! :) Can't wait for the next concert I'll be watching this December <3

Jour 64 - Sunny Sunday in Lyon

October 23rd, Sunday

The bad part of staying at a hotel - you get tamad to get up and get ready to go out (especially with the cold weather). Sunday, as usual, is like a ghost town. There wasn't anything open so we had no choice but to go to Paul's for our brunch - I got a sausage baguette and a pistachio macaron. <3

Oh Aira, what are you doing? :))

Aira wanted to see the football stadium so we accompanied her. When we got there, it was obviously closed and deserted!

So.. we just had fun posing around!

Aira's favorite player from Lyon.

We wanted to chill so we went to Park de la Tete d'Or. Sounds funny ey? Haha

In one side of the park, there was a park. So many bambis! Haha

It was a bit too sunny so Aira wanted to protect herself! Haha. This shows that she is a true blood Filipino - afraid of the sun!

Jour 63 - Only Lyon

October 22nd, Saturday

The next day (after getting back from Utrecht), we were scheduled to go to Lyon.

We got to Lyon feeling happy!!!! It was our first hotel everrrrr <3

Oh we were just so happy to be staying at one. Comfy beds, cosy bed sheets, a TV, a heater, a clean bathroom, oh the simple joys of being at a hotel. Take note though, we weren't at the fanciest one. This was just a two-starred one but that info aside, sweet experience! :)

We were on our way to look for a good bouchon restaurant. Aira said that we should go straight and hit the end of the area. BUT, we realized that we were lost! Haha. We took the tram to get to the city center because of our long walk!

Ohhh, this looks familiar!

We were finally happy to see people when we get to the city center. :) So then we realized we were on the right track already.

Lyon is filled with lions in different designs.

We were supposed to go to Chez Mounier (since I researched and saw that the restaurant serves really good value lyonnais dishes) but we couldn't find it. So the girls and I checked out the prices of each bouchon restaurant. We saw that Chez M'man had a reasonable deal for its prie fix meal. 14EUR for a three-course meal :)

I ordered a Lyonnais salad for my entree. Gooood salad! Aira, most especially, enjoyed it!

For my main course, I got Quennelle, a fish souffle. It was good, very savory, but since I'm not so much a fan of white sauces, I had a hard time fixing the dish. Oh and the girls actually got the same dish. Kwi was the only champion!

For dessert, we all got different ones. Kwi got Lemon Meringue (left side), I got Red Hazelnut (middle), and Aira got the chocolate cake. My dessert was really good - it looks like blood if you ask me but once you bite into it, the appearance of the cake doesn't matter at all!

On our way out, we saw that Chez Mounier was just actually right across Chez M'man. Oh man oh man, we were too hungry to pay attention to everything in the road :))

For our extra dessert, we went to Bernachon. I read in several blogs that this place claims to be similar to Pierre Herme and Laduree. I got three flavors - pistachio, vanilla and caramel. Verdict: Laduree makes better ones. But since I'm really not picky, I am most likely to get a pistachio macaron at Paul's.

We went to the commercial center and... we shopped! Haha. Sale is everywhere!

For dinner, we had our first Asian dinner! <3
