Jour 102 - Box It

November 30th, Wednesday

I was supposed to go to Paris today but I had to accomplish my responsibilities :| Went to Tita Juliet's to finally pack Kwi and I's balikbayan box. We finished fixing it in 2 hours! Yipeee! And there's still space for a little bit more pasalubong! :) And my winter jackets of course. I don't want to be hassled when it's time to go home and I need to bring so many things home :|

Oh funny and annoying story before Tita J's: so I don't know if you know but the girls and I are watching Maroon 5 in Berlin in a couple of days. Aira, Sam and I already have our tickets but then Kwi doesn't. She got the VIP package so there has been a delay with her package. Today, DHL called up to tell her that the package is already there. BUT, we were waiting in the bus station. She quickly ran! She ran three blocks trying to make the truck stop! It didn't stop @_@ So hopefully, tomorrow she'll get her package already.

After Tita J's, I had to go to school for a meeting. When I got back home, Kwi was about to leave for her train. AND then she called. She felt so stupid cause she didn't realize that her train to Berlin was at 7am today! And she thought it was 7pm. I feel so bad for her :( I hope her contingency plan will work tomorrow!

Before I leave, I must say I am now under the Victoria Secret depression :)) Yes, I downloaded and watched the show awhile ago and wow, just wow! The angels are just freakin' unrealistic! But it's making me realize how I want to get back to my thin self .___. Eeeep! On the flip side, I can't wait to see Adam liveeeeeee! :3

Gaaaah! :P

Jour 101 - Master Chef Ryan

November 29th, Tuesday

Ryan volunteered to cook for all of us today! Birthday celebration :D Ryan brought in two sous chefs, Pearl and Lea, to help him prepare a feast!

Here's Ryan with his Christmas beer and his funny looking scarf! :))

This beer is actually sweeter than usual. I like it :)

Sleepy Mario waiting for the food!

The birthday boy :D

His sous chefs!

Here's Ryan teaching us how to make sauce :)

His super duper good pasta sauce! <3

Our fake laughs! :))

Monopoly deal :)

...and then Philip came!

We also had grilled chicken! Delish!!!!!

We were teasing Philip about how things are in the Philippines. Like we mentioned that we had to take a boat  in order to get to school :)) Hahahaha!

Happy time with these people!

I'm super gonna miss these cook outs! :( When we get back to the Philippines, I'm pretty sure we'll all be busy already!

Oh just a thought! There are two sides of being a host: (a) positive side: you get to feed your guests with yummy food and see smiles in their faces!; (b) negative side: cleaning up the mess after the party :|

After dinner, we all headed to Network. I didn't bring my camera along with me but ugh, the music in that club is not my type. Techno! :| Renan, Jia and I agree that the music in parties back home are way nicer. We didn't know most of the songs. But there's this one song that was stuck in our heads! It had this line: I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT :)) OMG. The first time it played, Renan did his benta moves! :)) Fun night though. A different kind of fun!

Happy 100th Day to Us!

November 28th, Monday

It's official! 100 DAYS in Europe! I can't believe it! It feels like it's not :| I can't believe I'm leaving in three weeks! @_@ I really feel sad and happy at the same time..

Anyway, our plane back to Brussels was really early in the morning. It was at 6:30 in the morning so we had to wake up extra extra early :| Since the metro was still closed, we had no choice but to take a cab :|

We got to Lille earlier than expected! :D From the train station, we went to Euralille to shop for make-up. Hihi. And food!

I invited people to come over for dinner so that we could pig out Filipino style :)

Scrambled eggs, corned beef, pancit canton - everything unhealthy for dinner :))

The chef and his master cooking skills! :))

Ryan, the birthday boy, and Mario came over afterwards :)
Happy 100 days you guys!

Jour 99 - Domingo en Madrid

November 27th, Sunday

Last full day in Madrid and I needed to make sure that I enter at least one museum. I chose to go Reina Sofia because I heard Picasso's Guernica is Spain's most famous art work. Reina Sofia is a museum of contemporary art.

The place is pretty confusing since there are a lot of rooms and floors but the art work is pretty! I'm inspired to make some creations when I get back home to Manila :)

I wasn't allowed to take pictures inside the Guernica room. But you know what, the Guernica is really nice. It has this 3D effect that I can't really explain. It also seems like a sketch but in reality it's a painting.

Here'a picture of it. Picasso is really a different kind of artist. I just wished he still is alive by now so that I could ask him how he's able to draw things like this avant garde.

The former pope!

After the museum, Kwi and I went to El Rastro. This area becomes a Sunday flea market all the time and it is actually known to be Europe's largest flea market.

While we were walking, we kept on seeing people eating different kinds of sandwiches, well actually they looked like big tapas. I told Kwi that we should follow them and find out what they were eating. We saw a long line in this place!

We ordered 2 each - jamon serrano, octopus, cheese and jam, and fish and shrimps!

My favorite was the fish sandwich :)

The flea market wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I'm pretty sure my dad would have loved to see it though. There are a lot of shops that sold antiques.

After our lunch and walking around El Rastro, we went to Plaza Mayor.

The plaza was filled with a Christmas market. Most shops were selling Christmas costumes, hats and masks!

We saw this while walking to go to another place! Oh McIberica, why do you look so good?

This is Puerto de Sol

We passed by Plaza Espana

Next we passed by Palacio Real

We weren't able to enter the palace anymore because it was closing already. Anyway, we met up with Sam and Aira!

The four of us finally went to our last destination for the day - Mercado de San Miguel. Ever since Barcelona, I've been looking for markets that would be comparable to La Bouqueria. Sadly, I haven't seen one. This market we went to is a higher class one. It's enclosed and it felt like we were in an airconditioned area :)

I actually felt a little undressed. The people who would go inside were dressed up! I think this mercado is where the locals have drinks and chit chat with the friends.

Kwi got so aliw that she saw chicharon so she bought! But she didn't get to finish it cause it was a lot :))

I was in the mood for paella (again). :)

Oh and I wanted to try crema catalana. Pretty okay, except the top part cause it was too sweet.

Going back to the hostel, we passed by Plaza Mayor.

..and Puerto del Sol.

OMG. Check this out! It's jesus :))

We saw the Ateneo Hotel and Sam (who's from Ateneo) just had to take a picture in front of it :P
